American Society of Appraisers
The American Society of Appraisers provides education, accreditation, publication and other services. The oldest and only major appraisal organization representing all of the disciplines of appraisal specialists, the society originated in 1936 and incorporated in 1952. ASA's headquarters is in the metropolitan Washington, D.C., area.

 

Appraisal Institute
The Appraisal Institute is an international membership association of professional real estate appraisers, with more than 21,000 members and 99 chapters throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. Supports its members by providing real estate solutions and uphold professional credentials, standards of professional practice and ethics consistent with the public good.
 

 

Foundation of Real Estate Appraisers
FREA is a professional organization for appraisers and home inspectors in the country. FREA provides E&O insurance, education and other benefits to its members. It also has a home inspection division offering the same benefits to home inspectors as they had been offering to appraisers including low cost E&O insurance.


 
National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers
The National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers is an association of professional real estate appraisers committed to the support and benefit of its members, the profession and the general public.

 The Appraisal Institute of Canada founded in 1938, grants professional designations in real estate appraisal. The Appraisal Institute of Canada is a self-regulating body and, maintains the highest standards, practices and professional conduct in real estate appraisal to protect the public interest.

Established in 1975, the National Association of Review Appraisers & Mortgage Underwriters (NARA/MU) is a non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining professional standards and promoting ongoing education in the fields of Appraisal Review and Mortgage Underwriting.
